Physicals & Well Visits
Even if you’re a seemingly healthy adult, you should see a primary care physician once a year for a physical exam, also known as a preventive visit. If you’re managing a chronic condition, your primary care physician should see you more often. For young children, pregnant women or the elderly, doctor visits may need to be scheduled more frequently. Physicals are often required for starting a new job as well as for High School and College Students.
What Happens During A Physical Exam?
- Listen to your heart
- Listen to your lungs
- Look into your ears, eyes, and mouth
During your Physical Exam, your Provider will check your body systems with simple tests and by asking you questions. The exam is your chance to discuss your overall health with your doctor, as well as ask any questions you may have.
This visit is the cornerstone of preventative care and keeping you healthy!
